48 Go Green Film Festival... UPDATES

Sorry I haven't been posting much on here in a while, I've been busy. Here's a quick update as to what's been going on with Ben Hughes Studios. A couple of months ago I reached 1000 subscribers on YouTube, weeks later I was accepted into the YouTube Partner Program. I have been shooting plenty of (too many actually) music videos, I bought the student version of the Adobe CS5 Production Premium package, and I finally made another short film! BUT, things didn't exactly go as planned for this short film, mostly as a result of poor planning and time management on my part.

The film was made for a fairly new film festival called the 48 Go Green.
The 48 Go Green film festival is a film festival in which you have to create a short film with a "green" theme in 48 hours. Doing so definitely wasn't easy. Writing, Shooting, and editing was hectic. I had no idea whatsoever on where to start with the script. I spent hours sitting there coming up with nothing. The other writer came up with a general idea, so by 1 AM, I decided to just go off that, as I was extremely low on time. By 5:00 AM, the script was finished. It wasn't exactly what I had expected or wanted, but it was a script, and that's all that mattered. By around 8:00 AM, we had half the actors gathered, and ready to shoot some scenes. Locations were nearly impossible to find. So in the end, I actually used my house for every single indoor shot in the film, but I was careful with the shot placement so you couldn't actually tell that everything was shot inside my house unless you live there. Some actors had other things to do during the day so half the cast and I spent a couple hours doing nothing and watching Inception as time slipped away. By night time we got everyone together and rushed the ending. We had to shorten down some scenes which helped explain the story a little bit more, which was definitely a problem.
Editing was another story. I barely got it in on time. I was lucky that the deadline was extended because the 48 Go Green website was down. But I made it, and the movie was finally finished. Here it is:

I'm not going to lie. I'm definitely not satisfied with the movie, but hey, at least it's a movie.

Thanks everyone who helped out with the movie. Guest starring Ophishal Flyboy!

Again, I'm going to try to make more movies as much as I can!
